Photoshop Projects
Introductory
Photoshop is a valuable skill in teaching, librarianship, and journalism. Often, librarians have to make projects like print outs and displays that relate to the actual library. Librarian work is also closely related to the public, often visitors come in of all backgrounds and need help with certain elements of technology, rather that is for work, school, or personal projects.
Photoshop can also be used for personal reasons that are not related to those above, as it can be used for a simple family photo that needs editing or fixing (as an example.) In teaching, students often need a variety of teaching methods besides lecturing that can encourage engagement and learning. Students now grow up along with technology, and it can be used as a positive to help students learn. In journalism, working with photoshop files is essential to edit and export web-ready photos and files, (as many newspapers are strictly online or have an online site.)
Green Screen Project
Learning how to combine two different photos- one a background and one a greenscreen photo, is essential for all the fields mentioned, but especially for being a librarian. Librarians require a Master's in Library Sciences, and much of that work is centered around technology. Librarian positions typically include working for an umbrella of things. They manage books, the systems in the book, repair books. But they also have to work on setting up the actual library, and work with programming. Programming in libraries cover things like arts and crafts, but also technology work. Furthermore, many librarians are starting to include a digital workspace or studio, where a librarian needs to be educated on the actual functionality of different systems and programs to help the library patrons.

Multichannel Projects
K-Only file
Photo editing requires many different layers and the understanding of what is print ready. In journalism, journalists have to work with the actual website, where they have to edit photo displays for their article. I am currently employed in a journalism position, and I often have to upload the photos I take of the events and stories I am writing about. However, if I were working at a newspaper or magazine that needs to be in print, I would have to know how to work with these web and print ready photos to export and make the right files for each article.

CMYK File
Having skills on how to make photos web-ready and print ready is marketable especially for journalism. As I mentioned above, I already work with a site with my current position in journalism. However, if I were to continue with my career in journalism I would be able to take a much more involved position that goes beyond the basics of uploading an article and photo in the site. If I were to work for print, I would also be able to convert a photo into print-ready files. The pictures included here are converted or screenshotted to be web-ready, but they were originally in different file format, some of them with print-only colors.
